Yes. Students at the Institute for Drama can apply for all state funding, for example BAFÖG.
Yes. The Anton Bruckner Private University is the University for Music, Drama and Dance of the federal state of Upper Austria and is fully funded by the state of Upper Austria. The content of the courses (requirements, study plans, degrees) and the intensity of supervision are equivalent to those offered by the universities of the arts, which are funded by the Austrian state.
In Austria, there are two different public funding options: one is through the federal government (Austrian state), the other through the individual federal states. Universities that are financed by the federal states fall under the so-called Private University Act and must indicate this in their name. Incidentally, these two public funding models do not exist in Germany. “State universities” in Germany are maintained by the individual federal states – comparable to the Austrian “private university”.
Information on the structure of the study programme can be found here.
The programme is a full-time course of study and therefore very time-consuming. It is hardly possible to have a part-time job.
The drama programme is completed with the acquisition of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) university degree.
