Bruckner University Symphonic Orchestra
In addition to the major artistic subject (ZKF), playing in an orchestra is an essential part of studying at the Anton Bruckner University.
The Bruckner University Symphonic Orchestra unites students from different countries who, during their studies at the ABPU, work with internationally renowned conductors in intensive rehearsal phases to develop and perform the great and significant orchestral works of music history. The repertoire ranges from early music to classical and romantic literature and contemporary music.
According to the admission contract concluded between him or her and the ABPU, each student is obliged to participate in the orchestra throughout his or her studies.
The main subject teachers or the institutes will organize the instrumentation in good time.
- Extracurricular students must provide evidence of at least one orchestral production per academic year. An extension of the duration of studies is dependent on this participation.
- Students of the Academy for the Support of Gifted Children can be assigned to orchestra projects in consultation with their main subject teacher.
- Exceptions/exemptions from playing in the orchestra are possible after consultation with the main subject teacher, the relevant institute directorate and the chair of the orchestra committee.
