In this three-hour workshop held by one of Harnoncourt’s companions we will look into his scores and explore the questions we should ask ourselves in order to turn notes into music. We will approach a work together in a practical way and immerse ourselves in the search for meaning. “If you have no intention for the piece - don‘t play!”

Are you interested in free improvisation and getting to know the secret of the groove?
Our Impro-Groove-Ensemble offers the unique opportunity to get to know various concepts of free, parametric ensemble improvisation with lecturers from the field of Jazz with special attention on collective, pulse-oriented way of playing.
In two ensemble sessions we will improvise with a lot of fun, understanding Jazz as a “musical attitude” and consequently no specific prior knowledge is required.
Everyone is welcome to join the Free-Impro-Groove-Ensemble with their own instrument, regardless of whether you have years of experience or are improvising for the first time.
