The Bruckner Alumni Network of the Anton Bruckner Private University (ABPU) supports the networking of former and current university members and offers opportunities for professional exchange or further education, as well as the valuable exchange of experiences between current students and employees with the alumni.
The processing of personal data is necessary for the administration of the network and the organisation and implementation of events, but of course only to the extent necessary. The Bruckner Alumni Network provides transparent information about its processing activities in this data protection information.

Data categories
The following data categories may be processed in the course of Bruckner Alumni Network activities: name, title, address, contact details (telephone/mobile number, e-mail - private and ABPU), study-related information, relation to ABPU, event participation, payment information, bank details, audio/video recordings and image recordings at events.
Data collection
On the one hand, personal data is collected directly from the data subjects and, on the other hand, the Bruckner Alumni Network receives information from the ABPU.
a. Data collection directly from the data subject
The processed data is provided directly by the data subject (e.g. when registering with the Bruckner Alumni Network) or arises in the course of membership (e.g. participation in events).
b. Data is lawfully provided by the ABPU
The Bruckner Alumni Network receives the personal data of first-year students from the ABPU after the registration deadline for the respective semester. These are: name, title, email address, postal address, telephone number, field of study and instrument.
Purposes of use
The association processes personal data for the purpose of membership administration and to carry out the association's activities (e.g. organising events), as well as for the purposes of prescribing and settling any membership fees.
In addition, the Bruckner Alumni Network sends out regular association information.
Video/audio recordings and/or photographs may be made at events and published on the Bruckner Alumni Network homepage, in social media channels or other (print) media for public relations purposes.
Legal basis
The processing activities are based on the legitimate interest of the Bruckner Alumni Network and the legitimate interest of the Anton Bruckner Private University (Art. 6 para. 1 lit f DSGVO) for the purpose of supporting graduates and on the basis of the law governing associations (Art. 6 para. 1 lit c DSGVO). In the case of a sponsoring membership, the processing activities are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit b DSGVO for the fulfilment of a contract.
Data subjects have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time, subject to providing reasons, in accordance with Article 21 of the GDPR. An objection to processing activities would withdraw the Bruckner Alumni Network's right to process the data. Consequently, it would no longer be possible to contact the member and the membership would therefore have to be cancelled.
It is possible to unsubscribe from the association at any time by sending an email to alumnityrbrucknerunirat.
Storage period
Personal data is generally stored until the membership ends or until the statutory retention periods expire, as in the case of a sponsoring membership.
Processor
The Bruckner Alumni Network uses the support of ABPU employees / staff members for association administration. To this end, a processor relationship in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR is established and a corresponding agreement has been made.
Rights of data subjects
Data subjects have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
- Right to transparent information (Art. 13 and 14 GDPR)
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (e) and (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to data portability in the case of a contractual relationship or consent (Art. 20 GDPR)
- If processing is based on consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR or Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR, the data subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the withdrawal.

Data subjects must identify themselves and contribute to the identification process when exercising their data subject rights to ensure that a response is actually addressed to the data subject.
