The four-semester certificate programme consists of artistic and pedagogical subjects from the Bachelor's programme Elemental Music Education and is an intensive artistic and pedagogical further education through participation in artistic projects and experience in teaching practice situations. The main artistic subject “Music, Movement and Voice” is complemented by a wide range of subjects in the areas of instrumental and vocal music and dance. Didactics and teaching practice starts with pre-school children and, if possible, is deepened in the course participant's professional field.

The Certificate Programme Elemental Music Education takes four semesters to complete, with an average attendance time of 12 hours per week. This is to be supplemented by intensive independent study. The total required workload is measured at 66.5 ECTS.

Courses take place regularly each week.

The certificate programme is aimed at individuals with pedagogical and musical training who want to express themselves artistically in the areas of music, movement and voice and integrate what they have learned into their professional field.

A wide range of musical and artistic interests, enjoyment of movement, improvisation and spontaneous creation, good communication skills and an affinity for working in groups are prerequisites.

Knowledge of at least one instrument, a healthy and trainable voice, knowledge of music theory and ear training, healthy mobility, good coordination, the ability to express oneself through dance and the basic ability to improvise are expected. These skills are assessed in an admission process.

The artistic part of the certificate programme concludes with participation in the annual artistic project, which is the content of the main artistic subject 3,4.

Didactic competence is demonstrated by creating three lesson plans, including the framework conditions for a group of one's own choice, as well as a teaching sample for an exam.
