Diversity and Equity

As a university, we recognize how diversity – for example, of religion, believes, ethnic origin, age, or nationality – enriches us and helps us grow as artists, and as a society. We accept the challenge to grow and also reflect the diversity of society within Bruckner University.

We recognize differences and, at the same time, strive for equality (not only) of men and women; and it is of paramount importance to us that we integrate those with different abilities (so-called ‘disabilities’), too.

As the co-ordinator for those with different abilities and needs (Beauftragter für Menschen mit Behinderung) I am there to help provide and offer the following services:

  • Advice and information for students and staff with different abilities and needs
  • Advice around equal access to learning
  • Active support of, and accommodations for applicants, students, and staff, e.g., those in tenure hearings, university exams, applying for jobs, or seeking habilitation
  • Active support of students with different abilities, e.g., by co-ordinating resources or drawing up and implementing a learning plan
  • Information about, and sign-posting towards external service providers
  • Improving barrier-free access to university offerings and services, also in tandem with the other Austrian music universities

In short: I am there to help lower barriers and clear obstacles that need not be there.
